Making better choices- Jane's story

“I was on the pre‑diabetic program from August 2024 right through to June 2025. I was referred by my GP after being diagnosed of being pre‑diabetic. It was a diagnosis that shocked me.”
“I came on the program to get my head around the diagnosis, but also with an open mind. I wasn’t alone to take on board any advice and guidance I could be given, any support I could be given. The group that we had were brilliant. We were very supportive of each other, we all got on really well and we exchanged advice and guidance. We were also fortunate that we got a really, really good coach.”
“From the start, she said she wasn’t on a diet. No food was off limits. But what we did learn along the way was a better understanding of food and what that does to our bodies. We were asked to record what we eat, which helps you focus on what you want to put into your body, and to record our step count for the duration of the program. That focus puts you into that mindset of what have I done today and what did I do yesterday.”
“Starting the program was the kick up the backside that I needed basically to get me going again. I took up more regular exercise, which I’m still doing today. I lost over 10% of my body weight just by making better lifestyle choices. Since I’ve finished the programme, I’ve continued. I feel a lot better in myself.”
“My pre‑diabetic diagnosis has been reversed, so I’m no longer pre‑diabetic. This is a brilliant program to be on. It certainly put me on the right track. What price do you put on your health?”
